American Express Facebook Promotion – $20 off $200 at Best Buy (Amazon)

Updated with new $20 offer. American Express and Facebook have an ongoing promotion called Link, Like, Love. If you connect your Facebook account with your American Express card, you will gain access to exclusive offers. You can only link one AmEx card up per Facebook account, so you may need to use multiple accounts for multiple cards as the offers may differ. Some are more finely targeted than others, but currently available are:

  • $20 back after $200+ in purchases at Best Buy or BestBuy.com. You can just buy a $200 Amazon Kindle gift card from a physical Best Buy store’s gift card section. Amazon Kindle gift card codes are actually valid towards any purchase at Amazon.com. This means another easy 20 bucks per card without changing my usual spending habits. If you don’t see the offer after linking your card, try visiting this link.
  • $10 back on $50 gift cards at PREIT malls, Premium Outlets, and Simon Malls.
  • $50 back on $250+ spent on hotels in single purchase at Travelocity.com.
  • $10 back on $25 spent at California Pizza Kitchen.
  • …and other offers based on your Likes and such.

(No longer available offer) Here’s a screenshot of my $25 Costco credit along with my $100 online cash card purchase. As a reminder these American Express promotions all work with (free) authorized user cards as they have unique card numbers. So Mrs. MMB gets $25 as well on her card. Thanks American Express for another free 50 bucks!

  1. Baughman Says:

    Thanks for the pointer.

  2. Jonathan Says:

Confirmed I got my $25 and it works on authorized user cards as they have unique card numbers. Free $50 from American Express!

  3. Amy Says:

You live in WA, you should have a fan meet up one day! :D

  4. jim Says:

Worked for me too. I got $25 on the 4th as well.

Amy, the charges show WA because thats where Costco is located. So anyone buying online at Costco.com will show WA.

  5. Nic Says:

Actually Jim, mine mentions the location of the costco I went to….

  6. Nic Says:

Oh sorry, didn’t realize his was an online transaction, forget my mention above.

  7. Amy Says:

    My bad – thanks Jim

  8. Weston Terry Says:

Does anybody know when this expires? This is a great perk like usual from American Express. Thank you for the heads up in advance.

  9. Nave Says:

Can I buy a $100 gift card?..Is it still valid

  10. Immigrant in CA Says:

It appears that this is a costco.com only offer and not costco warehouse, right?
Is it applicable on costco gift card?
Does all $100 have to be on the same transaction or could it be multiple totaling $100.

    Any response is much appreciated.

  11. Jonathan Says:

    @Amy – ;)

@Weston – You have to spend the $100 by 12/31/12, I’m not sure how long it will be “alive” to add to your card, but I’d add it ASAP to be safe.

    @Nave – Yes. Yes.

@Immigrant – Yes. Yes, buy a gift card at Costco.com and use it in a warehouse, that’s what I did. Multiple totaling $100 is fine.

  12. Joe Says:

“Unfortunately the maximum number of Cardmembers have already registered for this offer.” Although they still used the offer in the advertising of the app to entice me in. : )

  13. Brad Says:

Jonathan, nice find, but similar to what Joe reported on 11/14, I have never seen the Costco offer. When I signed up and synced my Amex, all I got was the “$10 back on $50 in gift cards at Premium Outlets-Simon Malls” offer and something for a place called Discovery Cove.

I’ve checked several times, and these are the only 2 offers I seem to receive.

This offer might not be as good as it seem…or it’s one of those YMMV types.

  14. Tyler Says:

I did this, but I still don’t have a credit. It’s been two weeks. Jonathan, I’m surprised your credit posted so soon. Has anyone else done this and found that it took a few weeks to get the credit back?
