Capital One Shopping is a shopping rewards portal that works via a web browser plugin, while also looking for eligible coupons and lower prices from different sellers. When you shop through an eligible merchant, you earn cashback rewards. Right now until 12/1, if you sign up via a referral link, you can earn a $50 bonus after spending just $10 on qualifying purchases. That’s mine, thanks if you use it! You can then refer your spouse or friends as well.
Eligible merchants include Walmart, eBay, Booking.com, Chewy, Dell, Kohl’s, Safeway, Sam’s Club, Snapfish, YETI, and Zappos.
Installation was quick and I just bought a $10 used book off of eBay to trigger the bonus, easy enough. Note that the bonus must be redeemed as a gift card. I also redeemed my bonus as an eBay gift card (and have already spent it…)

The plugin hasn’t been overly intrusive so far, and mostly just looks at where you are shopping and automatically applies whatever coupon codes it has in its database at the checkout. Otherwise, it shows you other merchants selling the same item. You can uninstall the plugin after getting the bonus and cashing out if you wish.
Notably, I actually choose to keep this plugin installed on a voluntary basis (on one of my browsers). I have saved anywhere from 25 cents to $20 extra with no effort.

I’ve been using this extension for a little over a year now and have saved $2,400. Not only does it let you know when the product is cheaper elsewhere, but sometimes the percentage rebated back as redeemable rewards are on the insane side. Where Rakutan and RetailMeNot often give 1 to 5% rebates, CapOne gives double and sometimes even 15 and 20%.

Crap, what if we just recently installed the extension (i signed up literally 2 weeks ago to get the $10 bonus from capital one for signing up for the shopping extension. Does this mean I now do not qualify for the $30 bonus??
I made two purchases since Friday. The app seems to work properly, informing me of a 1% rebate. But then when I open the lifetime savings, I only see “You don’t have any shopping trips yet.

I believe it will show as pending for a while, due to the possibility of a return. They don’t want to pay out a rebate and not get paid on their end.
I got a ‘Trip Number’ from my Ebay purchase, but still see nothing in the Lifetime Stats area after 24 hours. Just ‘You don’t have any shopping trips yet.’
The other saving sites generally show a Pending entry minutes after a purchase, so this is kind of unimpressive.
How long usually for the purchase to show up as a qualifying purchase?
How does this work?
