American Airlines has a new 40th anniversary promo game where you can earn some prizes like free AAdvantage miles or Admirals Club access (grand prize is 1 million miles). I signed-in, clicked around for under 5 minutes, and walked away with free 40 AA miles and an Avis rental car upgrade (not worth much).

You can keep playing every day until 5/3. My personal strategy would simply be to play until you get some free AA miles to reset your expiration date. AA miles currently expire after 18 months of inactivity.

  1. Waste of time. Signed in, clicked around. Got 20% off FTD

For me, it was worth it and I appreciate this post since it took about 5 min and I got 40 miles which will keep my account active. I had to do a few clicks (pretty obvious) and each “click” was worth a “spin”. Obviously can’t use 40 miles for anything but it should reset the expiration date which is valuable!

I clicked around and landed on New York on my second spin of the globe. I got 400 miles for my effort. Not sure about the percentage of the prizes… just want to share an example of a slightly better prize.

I have been playing daily (two spins a day) and received 400 miles two more times. 1200 miles for 15 spins so far.

  4. Got 400 miles twice, and 40 miles. For me, it is worth it. Instead of clicking the globe, I clicked the link under it which allows you to see directly if you won.

    • Thanks for the tip. So far I’ve gotten 40 miles twice, but it took me three days on my wife’s account to finally get 40 miles to reset her inactivity. (I logged her in first today, not sure if that somehow made a difference even though it shouldn’t.)

  5. I’ve done this for 3 days, 13 spins… still nothing 🙁 Thanks for the post though – it reminds me to keep checking…
