Amazon Pay with Chase Ultimate Rewards Points, Get $15 off $50 (Targeted)

New version of promo, check if eligible! If you have Ultimate Rewards points from Chase credit cards, you can use them to buy eligible items at Amazon.com. The redemption rate is 1 Ultimate Rewards points = 1 cent at Amazon, which is the same rate as their statement credit redemptions. The only added benefit is that there is no minimum redemption size. In general, you check if you can get a better value by converting them to frequent flier miles like United Airlines or hotel points like Hyatt.

However, there are also targeted limited-time offers like this one:

Even if you have done a similar promotion before, you may be eligible for this one too for a relatively easy $15 off $50 purchase (I was).

Be sure to click on the Activate button. Products must be shipped and sold by Amazon. You only need to redeem 1 Ultimate Rewards point ($0.01) to trigger the offer. You should see the discount on the final page of checkout. Promotion begins on 7/28/2020 and end on the earlier of (a) 11:59pm PT on 10/31/2020, or (b) the time at which 46,667 customers have redeemed the offer.

I have the useful combination of Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Freedom cards, although the Chase Freedom Unlimited is also a great pairing for many people.

    Jonathan,

Great tip. This worked for me as well. Thanks for saving me a few bucks!

  2. Thank you Jonathan! I ordered today from Amazon and will get the 10% back, thanks to your post. I had forgotten to set up my Chase Freedom cash back for the quarter because I was using Discover for my Amazon purchases. But Discover is only a 5% cash back.

Setting up the Ultimate Rewards link was very easy too — the offer popped up in a dialogue box when I used my Chase Freedom card. BUT, when I tried to use the Ultimate Rewards points, there was a glitch at Amazon, — something about “not able to process now.” Just wanted to let you know.

The best part about all this is that it prompted me to get my final Christmas gift purchased — for the 15 year old boy in my life. DONE!

I’ll share this with my readers too — very helpful.

  3. Does this work with Chase Freedom along with Ultimate Rewards

  4. I tried this the last time it went public and it didn’t work and even contacted customer service and was told they shut it down. I tried again tonight and it errors out with my Chase Freedom and my Chase Ink. I may have to unlink them from amazon pay with points and start fresh.

  5. Is this deal per card or per Amazon account? Thank you.

  6. Couldn’t get the $10 first time bonus to work with my Chase Freedom either. When I check out, I am missing the option shown in Jonathan’s screenshot to “Apply Rewards Points” even though it’s a Chase Freedom that should be eligible. Oh well, at least I get the 10%!

Thanks again Jonathan for keeping me up to date with the stuff all these years. Have a happy winter!

    • It worked fine for me with Chase Freedom. Be sure to link your Chase Freedom card first, not as a payment method but specifically for the purpose of “Paying With Points”. Click on the “Get Started” link on this page

      Happy Holidays Dan!

      • Thanks again Jonathan. I now realize the reason it wasn’t appearing for me, shamefully user error. 😛 I had emptied out my cashback just two weeks ago, so my rewards balance is currently $0. Next statement isn’t until Jan 2, so I guess I’m missing this offer.

  7. Just used this on a Christmas tablet purchase, worked like a charm. $10 off and 10% back. Very cool, thanks!
