Amazon Prime members are now able to get an additional 10% off on “hundreds” of Whole Foods sale items at locations nationwide. Look for the yellow sign below. They had been rolling this out gradually, but it is now nationwide as of 6/27/18. There will also be other discounts marked as “Prime member deals” with a blue sign.

In order to get your discount, you must either show a barcode from your Whole Foods smartphone app at checkout (with your Prime info linked), or enter your phone after linking it at amazon.com/primesavings. Linking my phone number took me 10 seconds, so this option seems like a much more reliable method.

Stack with the 5% back at Whole Foods and Amazon.com with the Amazon Prime Rewards credit card.

Other perks? If you live in a major metro area, check if Whole Foods now offers free 2-hour food delivery to your house. Many locations have also installed special Amazon lockers to let you pick up packages. It will be interesting to see how this acquisition continues to evolve.

  1. I just signed my wife and I up for this. I didn’t realize it was rolled out nationwide.

    Thank you for sharing.

  2. I think it’s a good deal. I finally joined Amazon Prime this year. I shop at Whole Foods. While I buy mostly things not on the blue or yellow tag, the savings I do get make up for my monthly Prime membership. I eat a lot of fish and occasionally there’s a yellow discount on something good. Bought Branzini and organic avocados last time I was there and saved a decent amount.

  3. It’s a great deal for those that already shop at Whole Foods but for those of us who don’t, it’s not enough to get us into their stores. Of the handful of times I’ve been in there, nothing has really presented itself to me as a unique reason to come back. Other than the recent time where I just went in to grab an item from the Amazon drop locker, I don’t think I’ve spent more than a few minutes inside before I turned around due to the sheer price difference. It’s just not reasonable when you’re trying to be frugal.

  4. I disagree with Grizzly Bear. The recent discount has now got me shopping there! I found some great deals a couple weeks ago all on sale including: organic strawberries 1lb for $4, a vegan chocolate cake for $8, and Engine 2 banana walnut cereal for $2.50. These prices were all before the extra Prime 10% off, plus I got my current 5% cash back for using my Chase Freedom credit card at the grocery store. There are deals there now if you know where to look! Also worth mentioning they have their discounted WF wine for $3 (every day price) which is similar in price to Trader’s Joe’s “3 buck chuck”. Personally I like the Trader’s Joe’s version a bit better but for the price you can’t beat either one.
