ABC is running a one-hour TV special called Un-Broke: What You Need to Know About Money on Friday May 29th. As part of the promotion, Seth Green provides us with his financially-savvy edition of MTV Cribs.

I wonder if that is really his house? Somehow I seriously doubt it. Family Guy has to pay better than that, yo!

  1. It would be kind of cool if that were his real house. Since he’s working as a voice actor right now, he might not be paid as much as a similarly popular live actor. Either way, it’s hilarious. 🙂

  2. Seth Green’s real house has that massive collection of action figures, some of which has made it to the show Robot Chicken, to which he is also a producer.

Seth Green’s real home probably isn’t off the mark from this one. He doesn’t really see himself as a celebrity, and is considered among the more approachable ones.

And he’s a massive nerd. What he said actually made sense in this video, despite the “gangsta” approach he had to it.

  3. That is definitely not his house. Seth probably still has money from his first Rally’s ® “Cha-Ching!” commercials from the 1980’s.

  4. It could be his house; I checked on Zillow for home prices in Altadena, CA and it seems to be pricey area to buy a home. Either way, I think this will be an interesting TV special with the topic, presentation, and guests.

  5. he also did a commercial for Carl’s Jr in the 90s. No doubt Austin Powers earned him serious dough, think of all the royalties too!

I like how he has Energy Star appliances in the house!

This is seriously offensive to us truly poor people. I’m revolted, and don’t find it funny at all

  7. Seth has been running around Hollywood since he was 9 years old. Appearances on Entourage, and That 70’s Show. Voice actor for Family Guy. Film’s like Austin Powers, and The Italian Job, and so many more.

Seth Green is a millionaire, and while he might not have a house that qualifies for the show cribs. I would still feel pretty confident in saying that is not his home.

I do look forward to seeing this abc special, perhaps Paulie Shore would have been a better choice though. I only state this because his house was on MTV cribs once, and he actually lived a pretty humble life. Might have a bigger impact on audiences.

  8. The gangsta thing turned me off but then I’m over 50, so I probably didn’t get it. Basically, I think he’s a humble guy that knows success in hollywood comes and goes. He also knows he will never be a marquee actor but he will always be working. (I also believe he owns a little more property than what’s described in this video)

Well it seems to me that we in Malaysia are suffering from high inflation and boom in our economy, we have to import in foreign labour for undesirable jobs that none of our citizens wants to work at. China, Indonesia and Singapore are also booming, an example would be a dessert I bought a month ago was $ 1.20 in local currency and currently is selling at $ 1.80 which shows high inflation… The job market is also good with 2 jobs available for 1 worker, leading to high wage growth, hence we have to import in labour. We found out after March 2009 that we were not going to go into a Recession, imagine our surprise when we were told we were going to go into a Recession, we suspect we were saved by China’s boom and growth !

  10. That is funny 🙂

  11. I thought it was hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. It would be kind of cool if that were his real house. Since he’s working as a voice actor right now, he might not be paid as much as a similarly popular live actor. Either way, it’s hilarious. 🙂

Hey John Smith, it was not meant to be an insult to poor people. It was pretty truthful and he was right on, He is very smart obviously. I would bet that is his house.

  14. He was on Buffy the vampire slayer too. He’s really been in tons of stuff. I didn’t watch the video, but it’s definitely possible to have lots of money and live below your means. If it looks dirty or broken (you know he has a maid), I wouldn’t believe it. But modest, yeah, it’s possible.

  15. That was not his real house. All actors on the show were “play acting” poor. It was the most offensive thing I’ve seen in a long time — the rich and successful telling the poor how to get out of debt. Read Nickle and Dimed, folks. Seriously!

  16. Meh, the program didn’t say anything most readers of this blog didn’t already know. Green’s segment was the only one I found entertaining. Won’t get that hour of my life back.

  17. Yeah, Seth reportedly has a massive comic book collection of nearly 50,000 comics that he keeps in a climate controlled room at his house.

  18. Warren Q says

I think you all missed the point of this video, although it is not clear if this is really Seth’s house it’s not really important, as this principles and advice is sound. Although it is obvious that Seth is worth millions of dollars, owning a house like this would only help his financial position. Some of you seem to be ignoring the fact that although somebody makes millions of dollars they don’t necessarily need to live like most “millionaires” do. If this is actually Seth’s house I give him ‘mad props’ living a simple lifestyle far below your means is difficult even more so when you are in the spot light of Hollywood.
    Read a book people…

  19. Michael Bauers says

Hilarious and classic Seth Green. Not sure there’s valuable financial info here, but some people seemed to have missed the point.

First off, it’s a parody of the shows which show rich people squandering their money on high luxury items like gold plated bathtubs. If you didn’t get that joke, maybe you did not see those shows.

Also, I suspect Seth Green’s house (doubt that was his house,) is probably nice, but not extravagant.

I don’t know the dude, but he’s good looking, funny and talented, and I am SURE his intention was not to offend people (and if you think this is offensive, you will HATE Robot Chicken, which while HILARIOUS, is not for everyone.)
