If you signed up for the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card recently (most likely for their $625 travel bonus offer, like me), here’s how to get another $25 out of the deal. As cardholders, log into the Chase Ultimate Rewards shopping mall, which is one of those shopping portals where you get rebated points for buying stuff at online merchants. Right now, you can get 2,500 points (worth $25 or 2500 miles) and $5 in free printable postage just for signing up for a free 4-week trial at Stamps.com.

This comes via Infamousdx via Flyertalk. Not bad for a few minutes and one phone call. I still have a Stamps.com weight scale from way back when they were giving away $50+ in printed postage with a free membership trial. (Although don’t order the scale with this offer, as they charge shipping.) I don’t remember any hassles and printed the postage on my old inkjet with no issues.

  1. Great Deal! Between my wife and I, we now have $50 in rewards, + $10 in free stamps 🙂

  2. It says above you need to buy $5 in postage to get the rewards? or do you only need to open an account?

  3. Thanks for this post! I have a question: @James said he and his wife both got an account therefore getting the $50 in rewards + $10 in free stamps. I signed myself and my husband up but they would only honor one $5 credit in stamps because we have the same address so therefore considered the same “account”. Am I missing something?

  4. Hmmm. It seems you need to buy netstamps in order to print your postage. James, how did you get your netstamps?

  5. Just wondering if you’ve notice any negative or adverse situation happening as a result of opening and later on closing credit cards.?

  6. Hi!

I just signed up. My account came with a $5 postage bonus. Does this qualify? What else do I need to purchase (if I do at all)?

  7. I’m sorry, what I wrote initially was incorrect. When you sign up for a free trial, you get 2500 points AND free $5 in printable postage.

  8. Has anyone tried mailing one of the “$10 free postege” postcards in to get a total of $15 postage for free?

  9. Kumar – there is no credit involved, you do not have to give SSN to sign up, only a credit card to charge if you continue past the 4 week trial.

Nathan – the free postage cards are only usable after the 4 week trial, so you would break even since you have to pay like $15 monthly fee if you don’t cancel before the trial is up.

  10. Joe – I don’t see where it says those are only good after the trial. How long did it take your points to post? It’s been 10 days for me with nothing, did you have to wait for your statement to close?

  11. Nathan – I read it on the postage card in the small mice type. The points, they can take awhile sometimes. Mine have not posted either, probably will take 4 wks if they do post. Hopefully, just registering the cc with stamps.com will trigger it. Since we are not buying anything, will it still work? we’ll see I guess.

  12. I’m expecting my points to show up when my statement closes in a few days. If they don’t I will be calling chase to ensure they are added before canceling this subscription. Did you do the 4,500 Pitney Bowes one too?

  13. I called to cancel my account (after 2weeks) after I printed all the $5 to stamps on the label sheets they sent and they offered me an additional $5 to continue trying the “neat features” of the account. They said I could still call within the original 4 week trial period and cancel. The hold time to get a service rep was about 5 mins and they will ask why you want to cancel then offer you $5 to stay on. The $5 credit showed up in my account in about 10 minutes.

Important News Regarding your Stamps.com Account!

Thank you for signing up for the Stamps.com online postage service. We’re contacting you to let you know about an important issue that has come to our attention. After closely reviewing our affiliate program, we discovered that Stamps.com was mistakenly promoted as part of the is Chase® Ultimate Rewards? Shopping Mall program by an affiliate partner.

The Chase Ultimate Rewards Shopping Mall program offers incentives or points to Chase customers, which violates the Stamps.com Terms & Conditions of our affiliate program. Stamps.com does not allow a third party to offer any form of incentives to new customers for signing up for our online postage service through our affiliate program.

Your Stamps.com account has been identified as part of the Chase Ultimate Rewards Shopping Mall program. In order to prevent any charges from appearing on your credit card, Stamps.com will be automatically closing your account. This account closure will also be reported to our affiliate partner. The action is being initiated to prevent your credit card from being charged the monthly subscription fee of $15.99 for the Stamps.com service.

  15. I also got this email today. Just wondering if the 2500 points will also be removed by Chase…

  16. What a mess. Can’t Chase and Stamps.com work this out? I don’t know, but I guess I don’t have to cancel…

  17. I quickly printed out my bonus free $5 of stamps after reading the above, I didn’t get the email from stamps yet though.

  18. I have already canceled my Stamp.com account, which they are super high pressure salespeople and tried to keep me. I did not get this email. I do not expect Chase to take our points.

  19. I messaged Chase about the issue and was told I would still be given the 2,500 points even with these messages/cancellation from stamps.com. They said it would post on my next statement, which should be sent today, so let’s all keep our fingers crossed!

  20. I am happy to report that I received my 2,500 Ultimate Rewards Points.

  21. Craig @ ePrintPostage says

Sounds like all this was a bit of a mess from start to finish. Hope you all at least got something out of it from either company. I’m a user of the software to print postage and I can honestly say that I haven’t had one problem in the several years I’ve used them.
