Staples $25 off $75: American Express Offers

If you have an American Express card, log into your account online and scroll down until you see the “Offers For You” tab. Many people (seems to work once per account username) have found a $25 off $75 Staples offer. The fine print specifically says “Gifts Cards are eligible” (AmEx really can’t tell what you bought anyway). E-Gift cards are not eligible. So save $25 on physical gift cards from Home Depot, Lowe’s, Starbucks, Subway, Kohl’s, etc. Expires 12/10/13.

You may also see a $10 off $50 at Lowe’s if you didn’t do the Twitter version. Fine print:

Get a one-time $25 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a total of $75 or more at Staples by 12/10/13.
Offer valid in store or online at Purchases from & E-Gift Cards not included. If you order an item during the offer period but it is not sent to you until after 12/10/13, it may not count towards determining whether your purchase qualifies for the offer. Gift Cards are eligible. Enrollment for the offer is limited. Limit 1 statement credit per American Express Card across all American Express offer channels. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 8 weeks after American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from the merchant until all of the items from your qualifying purchase have been provided or shipped by the merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you will not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. 1. What do you mean by saving $25 at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. when it is for Staples?

  2. Thanks for the helpful tip. I am going to use this to save on a gift card which I will use for an upcoming home improvement project.

    Keep them coming!

  3. @John – You can buy various gift cards from other stores at Staples. For example, you can buy a Home Depot gift card at Staples. If you buy a $50 and $25 gift card for $75 total from Staples, this offer will get you $25 statement credit.

  4. I don’t see this offer when I log-on. Maybe Costco AmEx members are excluded?

  5. Signed up, thanks.

  6. @Helena, my account has the offer but my wifes did not, so it must be targeted to certain cards.

  7. Bummer! Thanks for the information Mathew.

  8. No luck for me. I an Blue Cash Everyday Amex card.

  9. Yes I’m afraid not everyone sees it but I have AmEx Starwood, Business Gold, Blue Cash Preferred, three pretty different types and I saw it in each of those.

  10. I have a Fidelity Amex card (2% reward) which is actually a FIA Card Services (Bank of America) card with an AMEX branding. I do not have the “Offers for You” feature (as far as I know) but I can do the “Sync with Twitter” for those offers.

  11. Would this work for Visa/MC giftcards too? Thanks!

  12. Thanks Jonathan – don’t have it. BTW, I have 8 AMEX cards and the “offers” are all the same for each one. The Staples is the only one of note/value to me.

  13. @Jennifer – Yes, although those cards usually come with around a $5 fee. Still, may be worth it if you want simplicity.

Yes I missed this one initially because it was not available on Twitter, not sure why.

  14. The offer isn’t showing up for me either. I have the Costco branded Amex. I see other offers but not this one.

  15. The offer shows up for my Blue Cash Preferred card but not for my Blue Cash Everyday card. Guess I’ll buy $75 worth of Amazon gift cards, just in time for the holidays. Thanks for the tip, Jonathan!

  16. Oh, plus $10 off $50 at Lowe’s, and Lowe’s sells gift cards too! So $35 off $125 in gift cards = 28% off!

  17. Works on the Hilton Amex too.

  18. Staples Rewards is also offering $20 off a $100 purchase(although it has many exclusions including gift cards). But, if you were to actually buy something from Staples for $100, it would only cost you $55.
