My local grocery stores (mainly Safeway) are having some great prices on BBQ staples competing for your July the 4th money. Check if yours is too, and stock up!

Ground beef – 5 lbs for $5 ($1/lb.)
Salmon fillets – $4/lb.
Chicken breasts – $1.29/lb.
Coke – Four 12-packs for $10 – $10 mail-in rebate = Free

Mmm… meat, fish, and soda. Grill-tastic! By the way, our no-grocery-shopping month went very well. We only spent about $20 on produce and fruit instead of the usual $200-$300, and we cleared out a lot of various stuff. It was like Spring Cleaning for our cupboards.

Since I’m away from home and not going to any barbeques, I figured my money is better spent stocking up. No, but literally. Since heavy consumption is in the air of the holiday season, I putting my money in some grocery and retail stocks like I usuallt do weeks before the winter-fall national spending wave. Enjoy your hot dogs and I’m be happily enjoying my portfolio.

  5. Always bothered about lack of information is on TV, and news channels reporting more on celebrities, I cut my cable. I chose not part with my money for substandard programs. Its the best decison I ever made. I save $700 every year.

I downsized whereever i could, my phone has no call waiting and voice mail features. Reduced my warddrobe, and now take public transport to work. Altogether I saved $2000 this past year.

I own a car and home I will be debt free in 5 years.
