The wife cut my hair again tonight, it’s something we’ve been trying to avoid the now $15-20 places are charging for a guy’s haircut these days. I mean, usually they can be done with me in 5 minutes, but then there’s always another 5 minutes of close scrutiny and “fine-tuning”. Seriously, at the rate my hair grows I’ll be back in two weeks anyways. This is about the fifth time that she’s done it, and she’s definitely getting better. 80% clippers, 20% scissor action.

Of course, I am not allowed to come near her hair. I think the $20-$30 she spends on her hair is probably worth it, she only goes every other month or so anyways. On the other hand, those $12 a piece hair products – *ouch*. Ok, I’m not allowed to write about those.

  1. I am single so I don’t have the luxury of free hair cut! I spent 35 bucks today at SuperCuts. (30 for highlights + haircut , 5 bucks tip)

Btw, why not a blog post about how much to tip?

  2. Some people use to shave head. It will also help to save some money on shampoo and conditioner as well. πŸ˜‰

  3. I use to go to supercut.. $13 per haircut and $2-3 tip depending on service provided. every 13 haircut I get one for free…

this is for a male haircut btw. the past few months though, ive found a local barber that does a good job, and charges only $8, which I give him $2 for tip everytime. he cuts hair faster and better.

so no more supercut. that was pricy. depending on hairstyle.. haircuts really do add up too.. especially if u cut once every two weeks or 1 and half week. I’m a bit lazy so I stretch mine to every other 3 weeks.. I tell myself I’m saving money at the cost of looking unpresentable. heh

  4. Here’s a joke someone sent me. Please, no hate-mail, it’s just a joke!

The story of someone getting a haircut.

    Women’s version:

Woman2: Oh! You got a haircut! That’s so cute!

Woman1: Do you think so? I wasn’t sure when she gave me the mirror. I mean, you don’t think it’s too fluffy looking?

Woman2: Oh God no! No, it’s perfect. I’d love to get my hair cut like that, but I think my face is too wide. I’m pretty much stuck with this stuff I think.

Woman1: Are you serious? I think your face is adorable. And you could easily get one of those layer cuts – that would look so cute I think. I was actually going to do that except that I was afraid it would accent my long neck.

Woman2: Oh – that’s funny! I would love to have your neck! Anything to take attention away from this two-by-four I have for a shoulder line.

Woman1: Are you kidding? I know girls that would love to have your shoulders. Everything drapes so well on you. I mean, look at my arms – see how short they are? If I had your shoulders I could get clothes to fit me so much easier.

    Men’s version:

    Man2: Haircut?

    Man1: Yeah.

  5. wannabe ceo says:

I cut my own hair all through college, not to save money but because there wasn’t a decent shop around. Once I started working, I’d go to the barber but I still cut my own hair once in a while. The money saved is great.

  6. YES!! I’ve been doing that for the past several years after I invested in a $20 ConAir hair cutting machine. Saves a bundle over the years, glad to see others doing the same πŸ™‚

  7. dont know what im doing says:

can you just go into supercuts and just get highlights without a haircut?
