TradePub is a site with a big list of free subscriptions to trade magazines in various industries, from finance to IT/engineering to healthcare. It’s all advertiser-supported, so just pick out what you want. Here are a few financial mags that caught my eye:

Financial Planning – “Delivers in-depth features and articles that help advisers build their practices and enhance planning and investment.” This one would be interesting just to see what they talk about behind our backs.

Trader Monthly – “The premier magazine for traders by traders who know this is more than a job; it’s a lifestyle. Each issue of Trader Monthly will bring you news, strategies and profiles of successful traders from around the globe. Plus, the latest in high-end sports cars, dream real estate, deluxe timepieces, fantastic vacations and much more.” This has got to be the most hilarious trade magazine ever. Check out that cocky-looking loser next to the beautiful trader 🙂

On Wall Street – “On Wall Street is dedicated to helping brokers, advisors, consultants and other financial professionals attract and retain clients.” – Hmm… I want to know what tricks they teach in here too! 101 ways to hide mutual fund kickbacks? I kid, I kid!!

  1. Financial Planning is a decent magazine. The one that really gets on my nerves is Registered Rep.

  2. Thanks JLP, that’s good to know. Interesting, does Registered Rep promote more “controversial” practices?

  3. I’ve subscribed to through TradePub for a number of subscriptions.
Some are good – some are quite boring.
I find some of the magazines – amazing – from the perspective of the inside industry information you can read about.
Just keep in mind that the subscriptions keep coming and coming even when you are tired of reading them.

  4. I’ve been getting Trader Monthly for about a year now. It makes me want to spend a lot of money on watches, wine etc…I’ve also read some pretty insightful articles from hedge fund managers! But, I like the pictures the best 🙂 What a shallow person I am!

  5. Ha, actually I just noticed that I used to get eWeek (internet stuff) which is on the list, but I don’t anymore. Not sure why it stopped coming actually, maybe because I moved.
