150 Free American Airlines Miles
You can get 150 free frequent flier miles from American Airlines by watching a two-minute video for Bose headphones.
This is handy for resetting the expiration date of miles if you don’t fly frequently. Currently, AA miles expire after only 18 months of non-activity.

Awesome, thanks for the pointer. My miles are expiring in a few months, and I haven’t been flying on American lately.

You can always buy a song from iTunes through their shopping program to push the expiration back. But this is great too.

Like the tip. Pushing the expiration date is the value here.

Does anyone know of any similar (low effort / no->low cost) way to earn a few miles in the United Airlines frequent flyer program? My United miles expire at the end of the month and I’d love to extend the expiration w/o spending any cash.

Thank you! I was wondering what I was going to do to keep my miles active…

@Stephen: You can either get the Starwood AMEX that Jonathan recommends, and transfer some miles to United, or you can get the Chase United Plus Mileage credit card — there is one with a $60 annual fee that is 1 mile/dollar, but if you ask you can also get a no-fee one that is 1 mile/2 dollars — great for keeping your miles current by putting a small charge on every few months.
