Back for 2018. Target is offering 10% off Target Gift Cards again on Sunday, December 2rd, 2018. One-day only. Offer available both in-store and online. No coupon or code needed – the discount applies at checkout. Here are more details from the news release:

  • Offer valid for up to $300 in Target GiftCard purchases ($30 maximum discount) per household. Minimum Target GiftCard purchase is $10.
  • Limit one transaction up to $300 in Target GiftCards on
  • Target GiftCards purchased during 10% off offer may be redeemed beginning Monday, December 3rd at 10am Central.

I’m not sure how they would be able to differentiate between in-store and online at if you use two different credit cards. Additional fine print:

Offer does not include Target Visa Gift Cards, Target MasterCard Gift Cards, Target American Express Gift Cards and gift cards issued by other retailers such as dining, lifestyle and entertaining gift cards. Offer excludes reloads of previously purchased Target GiftCards, Target GiftCards given in exchange for electronic or prepaid trade-ins, Target GiftCards provided for merchandise returns, Merchandise Return Cards and Target GiftCards provided as free promotional card with qualifying purchase. Quantities limited; no rain checks. Purchases of Target GiftCards that exceed certain transaction limits may be voided. Terms and conditions apply to gift cards.

The Target REDcard gets you 5% off Target in-store and purchases every day, but a few exclusions do apply including prescription medicine and Target gift cards. REDcard also gets you 2-day free shipping on many items and an extended return window (extra 30 days). There is also a debit card version connects directly to a designated checking account, for those that want to avoid having a credit card (and theoretically a credit check although the debit card application still asks for your Social Security number and driver’s license information).

  1. Have any one tried using this gift card to buy Cricket Wireless Service Payment Card when it is on promotion?
I recently join cricket wireless and found that target occasionally offer 10% or $5 off $50(which is a 10% off) .
so to ‘create’ a 20% off total.
    I don’t see why not.

    • The online listing says that you can’t use a Target gift card to purchase a Cricket Wireless card. However, you could try to combine it with some other purchases in-store and see if it goes through. I think you can still use REDcard though for 5% back.

  2. Is there a list somewhere of which gift cards (other than a regular Target gift card) are available with this offer?

  3. is this on yet?
