Here is a potentially free FICO score and report for students that are willing to endure a 15-minute spiel, but it appears to be limited to the first 5,000 people. I’m running behind on a project, so let me know if it works 🙂 Thanks TK.

We’ve arranged with the Fair Isaac Corporation to pick up the tab on the first 5000 students who want to check their credit score. That’s right. It’s absolutely free.

So enter your info below to start. We’ll take you through a 15 minute tutorial on credit basics, credit cards, and building your credit. Once you’ve completed this 15 minute lesson, you’ll receive a free code and a link to MyFICO.com. Once you’re there, drop the code into the discount box and save yourself the $15.95.

  3. Thanks Jonathan! Worked for me. Got a transunion FICO.

  4. thanks jon, worked for me.

  5. Nony-mouse says

Thanks..it worked. It only took me 2-3 minutes. Questions were too easy as it was all common sense.

    My score: 719

  6. It worked; thanks!

I’m amazed at how high my credit score was: 723 and I have no history except a credit card I got 9 months ago (and even with a recent hard credit pull).

  7. Nony-mouse says

Just did my wife’s and her score is 782. I guess the mortage should be under her name. (we are shopping for a house). Its good to have this information. Now we know that we can expect around 5.811% or slightly higher, But not more than 6%.

  8. thanks, worked for me too.

  9. worked 🙂
took like 5min for the quiz and reading

transunion not a very good report compared to equifax 🙁
    says no inquiries hehe

  10. thanks man it worked for me as well 🙂

  11. It didn’t work for me.

The post blog you linked is for “credit reports” not credit scores.

  12. anonymous says

Boo. The code didn’t work for me. 🙁

  13. The code didn’t work for me either, unfortunately

  14. Guess the 5,000 freebies have been used up:

The Promotional or Gift Code you have entered is either invalid or expired.
Please try entering the code again or click here to continue
without a promotional or gift code.

  15. Yea looks like its over, I just tried it.

    I got the same messege
“The Promotional or Gift Code you have entered is either invalid or expired.
Please try entering the code again or click here to continue
without a promotional or gift code”

    Thanks anyway Jonathan.

  16. Didn’t work for me

  17. One way to get free credit score is to apply for mortgage preapproval. I did it with countrywide over the phone and gave me mine and my wife’s credit scores in 10 minutes and emailed me the preapproval letter as a PDF.

However this trick will result in a “hard” query on your credit report. It does lower your credit score by couple of points for next few months.

  18. I guess it’s over. (Maybe not?) I’m glad some people were able to get in on it.

  19. BiscuitMan says

It worked for me, try using code VC3794.

  20. yes, use VC3794 and it works fine

  21. VC3794 doesn’t work either. Thanks Jonathan anyways.

  22. The vc3794 code worked for me about an hour ago (strangely the code that was generated when I tried last night did not work) and I was delighted with the results: Fico of 779- not bad for a degenerate, tax-evading pizza delivery guy like myself…

    cheers!

    nate

  23. Good news, maybe. If you (use code VC9743) you should be able to get a free FICO score. I couldn’t get through because my history is too short, but it seemed to work other than that.
