Starbucks is offering a free $5 gift card for new members of their Starbucks Rewards program that register a Starbucks (gift) card. If you don’t have one, you can either buy one from a physical store or use their mobile app. Ends 3/15/13.

Indeed, the easiest way to get a free $5 gift card is to download their smartphone app (Android/iOS) and sign up for a new account via the app. When asked to register a card, choose to “Get a Mobile Starbucks Card”. You may need to wait a few minutes, but the card should eventually get credited with $5 without having to load it with your own money. Free caffeine, good for at least two iced coffees with milk per person! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Jennifer says:

We registered for new cards under 7 different email addresses and got $35! Not sure if that’s illegal, but it let us! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Tyrone Biggums says:

People over at slickdeals are manipulating this deal. Apparently you can sign up and instantly get $5, even if you use a fake email address. People are getting hundreds of dollars of gift cards and buying coffee machines, selling on ebay, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if Starbucks voids all the gift cards earned in this “deal”.

  7. It took me a few hours to get the credit, but it showed up eventually, so the deal is still working, though I haven’t tried it yet.
