Exxon Mobil and Mastercard have a promotion where if you link your Mastercard to a Speedpass, you’ll get 10 cents off per gallon from 6/1/12 to 8/31/12. Good at any Exxon or Mobil, up to 100 gallons total. Rebates will be credited in October 2012.

This appears to be a keychain fob that links to any existing credit/debit card but allows you to purchase gas without needing to swipe. So that would be 10 cents per gallon on top of your existing credit card rewards. Thanks to reader William P for the tip.

  1. Interesting deal but it only works with MasterCard and I don’t think I actually have any credit cards with MasterCard. Certainly no rewards cards.

  2. It is void in MD, NJ and VA. You should point that out.

  3. I couldn’t do this, when I emailed them they told me it was only for NEW key fob customers.

  4. FYI, your gas would have to cost only $2/gallon for this to match the return of, say, a PenFed card.

  5. I should clarify the above. I realize it works on top your rewards card. But AFAIK, most gas rewards cards are not MasterCards. Of course, if you have a MasterCard that gives rewards for gas, your calculation will be different.

  6. I have a mastercard llinked to this but remember… this is for NEW key fob customers only. At least that was my experience since I couldn’t sign up for the promo and the email I received back from them told me so.
