I received a notice about a class action settlement for AT&T Wireless Customers after March 1, 1999. This is the AT&T Wireless was that was merged out of existence in 2004, before it became Cingular Wireless and then “Wireless from AT&T”. To receive benefits, Class Members must submit a Claim Form (available at www.awssettlement.com or 1-866-249-8109) by February 13, 2011. Details:

Subject to Court approval, settlements were reached of class action lawsuits against AT&T Wireless Services, Inc. (“AWS”) regarding challenges to: (1) charges for mMode Data Service (“mMode”) and ENH Discount International Dial (“EDID”), if they were unauthorized or not understood; (2) charges for cellular telephone calls during a billing period other than the one in which the calls were made (“Out-of-Cycle Billing”), if not understood; and (3) imposition of Universal Connectivity Charges (“UCC”), if not understood (collectively, “Settled Claims”).

You may be a class member if you:

* live in the U.S. or its territories, were an AWS subscriber after December 20, 2001, and were billed and paid, but not refunded in full, for mMode or EDID;
* live in California, initiated AWS service under a “One Rate-type” plan after March 1, 1999, and were charged for calls during a billing period other than the one in which the calls were made; or
* live in the U.S. or its territories, were an AWS subscriber after March 1, 1999, and paid, but were not refunded or credited, for UCC charges.

You may be a member of multiple classes.

If the Settlements are approved, Class Members may receive:

* mMode: $8 check
* EDID: $10 check
* Out of Cycle Billing: $8 check or 250 minute AT&T Phone Card
* UCC: $7 check.

    Greetings.
    I am documenting this information concerning Att wireless. ATT is beyond scandalous. Recently I became a ATT customer , after years of only using prepaid phone service I went against my past experiences as I knew that these companies who offer contracts are infamous for overcharging customers under contract based on the fact that once a customer is under contract they bank on getting away with overcharging because most consumers pay the fraudulent charges for fear of their service being disconnected for nonpayment and the fact that people pay these bills in lieu of having negative information placed on their credit report.
    I had hoped these practices had ceased after so many years, but no it seems they are deeply into their fraudulent practices. My personal experience and many many other personal experiences surrounding ATT can be found on their Facebook page.
    What I am experiencing is over billing. Most customers donot read the contracts, but contained in these contracts it states that customers give ATT permission to bill their accounts in increments of $20 as they exceed their limits, the fact that this is noted in the contract is a clear indication which allows them to charge customers even when they haven’t exceeded their monthly allowances , anytime ATT submits such agreements within the contract , this is a clear indication of their fraudulent intentions, because consumers could of just as well confirmed when they required additional funds added because of overages . So now although my app states I barely use ATT because I have wifi at home , I am disables and rarely go outside of my home I know I haven’t went over the monthly rate. After speaking with ATT I reviewed my usage and by what s noted I have never exceeded my monthly usage, but here’s the kicker ATT also documents customer usage, at the final tally the apps usage isn’t where the usage is calculated from. The usage final tally is based on the usage which ATT has documented in their system. This is a complete scam , in addition to corporate welfare and stealing. It’s disgusting that they are adamant about cheating people. I’ve concluded that this company is money hungry , while adding insult to injury they don’t even employ a corporate office which would justify their thievery . They seem to think people have a access of money to hand them. I am assuming that they think everyone is like them , and have money to give away just waiting to be spent . ATT this is not the case most people aren’t like you with open unending funds laying around , there are people struggling to make it day to day. Just to be able to feed their families .
    ATT will fall and fall hard they are without any Integrity , they can’t spell it and probably can’t pronounce the word , much less knowing what it means. A Class Action Law suit is impending. But all they will do is barely repay customers for all the money the have stolen. Me personally I am not paying a thief and robber especially a gun less one.
    Thank you for your outlet.
