Wanted: Etsy Seller For Interview
I’ve recently been interested in the website Etsy.com, which is an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of handmade items (and craft supplies and vintage items). I know someone who makes some pretty cute baby clothes with hand-stitched animals on them.
For sellers, the fee schedule appears to be pretty simple. You pay a listing fee of 20 cents for each item (nonrefundable if it doesn’t sell in 4 months), plus a flat 3.5% of every sale. The average sale is about $15-$20. With over $10 million is sales each month, this can be a easy streamlined way for creative people to make some money on the side.
I’m looking for a reader who is an experienced Etsy seller to do a sort of Enterpreneur Interview-type of post. You’ll get a chance to share your story and also publicize your storefront and products. Sound fun? Contact me

My friend suggested I contact you. I have been an etsy seller for about a year now, with a goal of someday quitting my job and crafting full time. Let me know if you want to do an interview.
Thanks!

Thanks for the e-mails so far. I am thinking of some sort of group post mentioning multiple sellers. Will follow-up soon.
I thought Regretsy would be some sort of anti-Etsy site, but it’s actually just… weird.

Hi Jonathan. I am an Etsy seller – selling vintage finds, supplies/packaging, and soon, handcrafted wares. I lost my job about a month ago, so am now working full-time fine tuning both my Etsy shop and my “gifts for the home and garden” web shop which I’ve had for a few years. (and it IS a full-time job!!) If I can add something of value to your interview, I would be happy to.
Thanks….. Karen

Hi, I had a friend suggest I contact you.
I’ve been unemployed since Nov of 2008, and am trying to become self employed in part by selling on Etsy. If you’d like to talk more just email me, thanks.
I’m selling my photography right now but plan of listing other items in the near future:

I am a proud etsy shop owner, who is also a mother of 4! My husband is a teacher and I am a stay at home mom needing extra income. I started on etsy over a year ago, selling girl’s dresses. Now I am making a great income while staying at home with my kids. Feel free to check my site out at:

Someone suggested I contact you… I’ve been selling on etsy for about 4 years. I have used it as part time income and full time at different stages of my life. I’d be happy to share any advice/info… making a living on etsy or as an artist/crafter in general is not easy.
