Sweeeeeet. Got my $250 from AmEx.

Too bad this $250 offer looks expired. How about $100 + $100 instead?

I’m curious to know how much you spent on your first purchase.

I just recieved this amex card, I had applied awhile ago when i first saw this offer. There was nothi9ng mentioned in the information sent with the card about the $250 though. Doesn’t hurt to go try and see I guess, just was getting a bit worried, and now it looks like they cancelled the offer.

Sorry for another post… but I was just thinking about this AMEX card again.
2.5% rebate on spending if you spned over 20,001 in the annual. Did you guys see that? Now… You can have 2 paypal accounts total, one business and one personal. If I link this card to my personal and pay (purchase some expensive air) my business which accepts CC’s then I get charged 1.9% + .03 USD and have 20k+ cash in my paypal at 0% for whatever time period.
If I’m right on all of this.. that’s a nice return for again… doing nothing =) Anyone confirm this makes sense or am I flawed somewhere in my logic?

Tim – Read the terms very carefully. – The first $20,000 of purchases only gets 0.5% cash back. Once you reach $20,000, only THEN do you get 2.5% cashback on those purchases OVER $20,000. You still only get 0.5% on the first $20,000.
In order to get an overall 1.9% cash back, you’d have to spend $66,666 in a year. And that’s just to break even with PayPal fees.
In order to get an overall 2.0% cash back and beat my MBNA card, I’d have to spend $80,000 in a year. This card is only good for big spenders.

Oops, thanks Jonathan! Such thoughts were making me nervous anyway =) Getting cash out for the 0% deals is always somewhat simple.. Still trying to find ways to actually make things count as purchases though instead of balance transfer =\ Always keeping my eyes peeled.

[...] The American Express Platinum Business Premium Cash Rebate Card is again offering a $250 statement credit (third card from the left) after your first purchase, with no annual fee. If you got in on this last time like I did, you may not be able to get it again unless you have a 2nd business – “You may be permitted to have more than one American Express? Business Card account; however, you are eligible to receive only one promotional $250 statement credit per unique business.” [...]
