starbucksStarbucks and Chase Pay have a new promotion that gets you 300 bonus stars when you load $20+ via Chase Pay on the Starbucks app. Click the link for specific instructions for iOS or Android phones. Expires November 21st, 2017. Easy to sign up and my 300 points showed up quickly.

  • 300 stars is enough to earn Gold Status (or renew your current Gold status), after which you can redeem 125 stars for a free food or drink on the menu at Starbucks.
  • Chase Pay requires you to have an eligible Chase Visa consumer credit card, debit card, or Chase Liquid card.

300 stars can be valued at over $10 pretty easily, as every 125 star reward can be redeemed nearly any food or drink item on their menu. Besides a huge Venti caffeine/sugar bomb, most of their lunch food items are over $5 and some are closer to $9. They now have protein boxes, protein bowls, hot/cold sandwiches, and more. Alcoholic beverages are excluded.

What can I redeem my Reward for?

Starbucks® stores: one [1] complimentary handcrafted beverage [standard Starbucks menu sizes only], food item or ready-to-drink bottled beverage at participating Starbucks stores.

  1. It worked thanks

  2. As usual with a starbucks promo, the app errors out at some point (this time when I try to add a chase pay payment method).

I literally have *never* done one of these things without some sort of problem that makes it more effort than it’s worth.

  3. I was able to get the stars by reloading with Chase Pay through the Starbucks website.

Thanks for that, Chase Pay insists on verifying my iphone with numbers that haven’t exist in 5+ years. No stars just yet. Always something!

  4. had no issue buying and getting the stars

  5. am still waiting for my stars ?

Had to return here to share what happened, my rule of thumb is the more steps and hoops you have to take, the likelihood of no payoff (amazon promos seem to be an exception). Couldn’t get the Starbucks iPhone app to take the Chase Pay. Did via the website instead, got the confirmation emails and gold welcome. Checked on 11/25 a few days later, $20 was there but no Gold Stars on app. But a coupon screen with UPC for 1 free drink expiring 11/26 appeared. No mention of size / cost limitation or if the 11/26 was a valid day or not. Coupon still appearing on screen on 11/26 so off I go to my nearest Starbucks for a $6 frappacino that I would never usually order for myself. Starbucks was overrun by holiday travelers, took 10 minutes to order, coupon scanned OK without question or incident, 10 min more to receive. No angst or worries, just an understandably busy day. Get home and my $20 balance was charged the $6. Can’t make this stuff up!
