Peachtree Accounting 2006 Software – Free After Rebate
Peachtree Accounting is an accounting software for small businesses that does stuff like handle payroll, invoices, accounting, and inventory. Similar to Quickbooks. In my newspaper, it is free after a $165 rebate at both Staples.com and OfficeMax.com. I usually hate rebates with a passion, but since it makes this $200 software free and is for something practical, I might bite. Maybe I’ll send it by registered mail or something.
I’m buying this for my baby business, in the hopes that it will keep me organized. I’m sure it’s overkill, but hey, it’s free. Anyone use it?

Can’t say I use it, but it is selling for less than $2 + shipping on eBay right now if you don’t want to hassle with the rebates…

We used to use it a non-profit I used to work in. I wasn’t the primary user of the software, but they did switch to QuickBooks in the midst of an audit. BTW, happy new year!

Im a cpa with a small firm in nj. i use peachtree 2005, and find this an excellent tool in your business. Quickbooks has some better features but peachtree is now a clone of quickbooks(in features), so for the price you cant go wrong.
Just remember its still a $200 program, its not as efficent as a the $20,000 prgorams, but if your become handy with it , its a fine program! I use peachtree to handle what i call manual clients. They are the ones still using their checkbook.
