I almost forgot, I’m wanted to give away my Google Voice invite to a randomly chosen reader. So if you liked the features and money-saving opportunities, you can enter for a free GV invite by leaving a comment under this post with your First name (or nickname) only and valid e-mail address (will not be shown or shared). You can leave the actual comment box blank. For the first drawing, I’ll run it for 24 hours until 10/21 at 6pm Pacific. I’ll give out more if they put some more in my account.

No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Winners chosen randomly. One entry per person. Good luck!

Update: 6 winners were picked and sent an e-mail. Thanks to readers MattG, Gopi, Greg, and Pete who offered 5 additional invites. For those that didn’t win, I’ve gotten several comments that asking Google directly works and only take about 2 days to get your invite.

  96. google voice competition

  97. I just added my emaill to the google voice invitation page and they sent me an invite a few days later. This was about 2 months ago. I told my brother about it and he did it too. Are there people that are submitting their emails for invites and not getting them now–it would seem so from all the comments here? If so, I wonder how they determine who to send invites to. I submitted my gmail email address and so did my brother…makes me wonder…Hopefully the more people use it and suggest enhancements the google services will just keep getting better and better. At least recently google has been implementing changes that have been requested. For example when I first started using google voice, they did not forward SMS text messages to email, only transcribed voicemail. I submitted some feedback probably along with several others and they now forward SMS text messages to email.

  98. thanks! great page!!

  99. I have a Google Voice invite already, but I haven’t set it up yet because I don’t know what I want the phone number to be. I’m kind of holding off until I get a better idea of where I’ll be settled.
