@Pev: The core contents of the book are available on Wikipedia, but just reading the overview is really insufficient.

Each of the core pieces are explained using examples and stories. If you can't be bothered to flesh out the various core concepts, then the book simply doesn't work.

Of course, if you really don't like to read, have you actually tried audiobooks? It's a great way to "take in" a book without having to stare at lots of pages.

Thank you for the heads up. I own the book but can't seem to get past the 1st chapter. Maybe this will do the trick.

I took advantage of an Audible deal 2 months ago for 4 free books. A decent idea but hate this monthly subscription model. And the fact that I couldn't play books on my Dell PDA.

There is an app called Tunebite that converts from their format into mp3 via iTunes for those interested. Works well.

Hey WhiteJoe;

The "Software" is just a download manager to make it easier to find your files and to ensure that they finish downloading.

If you're an iTunes user, the downloaded software also gives you an Audiobook plug-in so that it can do things like automatically save your place in the book.

It's unobtrusive and pretty easy to uninstall.

For those who haven't read this one, it's pretty much a personal development staple. The 200-page book can reasonably reduce to about 7 pages of notes, but you have to go through that 200-page journey for the notes to make any sense :)

I've been over my personal 7 Habits notes probably a 5 or 6 times since I finished reading the book years ago. And every time, even the compressed version helps bring to light something that I'm failing to do.

At the end of the day, almost every book on personal development steals from 7 Habits. Almost every time I've been in a developmental slump, I'm failing at one of the habits. I've seen it others too.

So if you get the chance to read or hear this book for free, it will be worth every hour you spend on it.

Hey Jonathan. Thanks for the post, but the link you gave is session specific and is now timing out. I tried to find it directly on the site, but I couldn't find the free version.
