One good (excellent?) thing about Emigrant Direct: Transfers done by ACH appear faster either to or from Emigrant than with HSBC Direct, ING Direct, Charles Schwab, or Chase, to name some of my other financial service providers.
Often, an ACH transfer through Emigrant appears the next day. With HSBC, in contrast, that appearance takes a few days, at minimum.
Why do other banks take longer?
