  1. Nell Says:

Can you renew an Executive Membership with this certificate?

  2. Venkat Says:

I am an executive member with the costco AMEX card. They automatically charge my CC at the time of renewal every year. How can I take advantage of this offer?

    Thanks

  3. baronvonjon Says:

I took advantage of a the same offer through Working Advantage. In addition to getting the coupon booklet I avoided paying sales tax. One note to be aware of is the coupons have an expiration date. Usually the following quarter.

  4. sillycat Says:

Is there an expiration date on these certificates? Too bad I just renewed the membership and might be moving within the year. No idea if my new home has a costco nearby….

  5. SS Says:

Just last weekend my membership was for renewal and I asked them to upgrade it to exec. Do you have any tips on how can I use it for previous upgrade?
This seems to be a good deal.

  6. Justin Says:

Ok, just bought two for an exec renewal. Why wouldn’t you get an exec membership? If you don’t get beyond $50, my costco pays the difference, essentially making it free even if you only spend $1000 a year at Costco.

  7. Jim Says:

Nice offer – I just need to figure out some way to remember it exists when my renewal comes up next February!

  8. m Says:

    Is this Kardmerchant company legit?

  9. Jonathan Says:

Nell – Yes, you can renew Executive Membership. Just buy 2 certificates, each is worth $50 towards membership.

Venkat – I’m not sure, perhaps call up Costco or Amex? I also have a regular Costco membership gift certificate left over from Christmas, so they should have a way with dealing with such a scenario.

sillycat – I send them an e-mail asking about expiration. Will update.

SS – I don’t know, if you already paid you might have to ask your local Costco store if they do refunds. Technically they should since they always offer refunds if not satisfied.

Justin – I agree, you can’t lose, but some people probably don’t want to bother asking for money back if they know they don’t spend much. I know I spend more than I think!

m – To the best of my knowledge, and based on Google search, yes this company is legit. I have seen this offer elsewhere in the past, and haven’t heard otherwise. They do gift card processing and school fundraising promotions.

  10. Jonathan Says:

Okay, heard back from them. Their customer service number is 877-538-4416.

The certificates do *not* expire however the current set of coupons expire at the end of August.

  11. sillycat Says:

great. Thanks Jonathan. I will in for 2. By the way, I am about to name my baby boy Jonathan, who is due in August. :-)

  12. Karen Says:

I filled out all the info. and submitted and all it said is done. How do I know if it went through?

  13. Karen Says:

So do you get a screen saying it went through? I don’t want to try again and get billed twice.
    Thanks

  14. Vlad Says:

They are $50 both on that site and at Costco. So where is the “discount”? Is all the deal about free chicken and coffee?

  15. EC Says:

I’ve called the corporate customer service number, 800-774-2678, to ask about using these certificates to renew a membership usually charged to a costco AMEX. After some time on hold they took my membership off of automatic renewal which will allow me to redeem the membership certificates.

Also: If you don’t want to do this deal, but are willing to have them automatically renew via AMEX you can get an extra two months of membership for the same price.

I’m a big fan of costco. It’s my belief that their return policy (any time, for any reason for a full refund, on most products) forces them to stock only quality products that customers will be happy with. If they sold junk they would get flooded with returns.

Vlad: Yes, as the post says the costs are the same, but you get a coupon book with $35 in savings, including about $15 worth of free (not discounted) product.

  16. Karen Says:

Has anyone actually placed an order for this? Do you get a receipt?

  17. justin Says:

Reciept comes in the mail. I ordered two last week. I went to costco today with my certificates. They took me off auto renewal. Renewed my executive membership and I was out the door.

We’ll definitely use the chicken, coffee, nuts, meat, and water coupons. I was going to pay it anyway.

  18. Brenda Says:

I just did this offer (for 1 Gold Star membership) and the receipt printed out $150 dollars, instead of $50!!!! Anyone have this happen to them? I called and am waiting for a response.

  19. Jonathan Says:

I just ordered one for my mom, my own membership just renewed a few months ago. I got one Gold for $50, and they email you a receipt immediately. Takes Visa/Mastercard, not just AmEx. Will update when coupons arrive.

  20. Karen Says:

Okay, I just tried it again. I ordered a $50.00 membership and a confirmation was emailed to me.

  21. Dianne Says:

Does this certificate work for Canada Costco membership? Thanks.

  22. Helena Says:

Has anyone recieved their certificate(s) and/or coupon books yet? The e-mail confirmation says the certificate will be mailed in 3-5 business days. I placed my order on 5/14, but still have not received anything in the mail. Just thought I’d check with you guys first before I give their customer service a call.

  23. Karen Says:

I ordered mine on May 20 and I received in mail. I don’t remember what day but I did receive it. It wouldn’t hurt to give them a call. Did you get a confirmation of your order?

  24. Mary Says:

Can anyone post exactly what certificates/coupons are included with this offer?

  25. Karen Says:

You get an activation form that you need to take to Costco.
The coupons you get are: free 2lb. bag of Kirkland coffee, free rotisserie chicken, free 1-hour photo for 50 digital prints, $3 off cookies, $3 off Kirkland water, $3 off 18″ pizza, $3 off mixed nuts, $3 off any meat and $2 off any salad mix. Coupons expires 8/31/09.

  26. Has Our Costco Membership Been Worth it? Says:

[...] aren’t good buys for us based on the amount we eat and our limited freezer space. We do buy our cold cuts of  roast beef and ham for lunch [...]

  27. Vickie Says:

Ordered the costco membership cert. on 10/31/2010. Called Kardmerchant customer service on 11/18 at 877.538.4416, Katie stated it takes 7 – 10 business days and that the certificate was sent out on 11/4. Called Kardmerchant this a.m. 11/29 and John stated the same and someone must have taken it from my mailbox. I informed John that I have a locked mailbox. The saga continues.

  28. susan Says:

I think this is a rip off. Ordered one on the 20th of Dec. for my daughter & family. My MC got charged, but no certificate has been mailed. Called several numbers including John’s cell phone and looks like I’m in for a long ride…..forget using entertainment.com as they will do nothing to back you up either.

  29. Karen Says:

I would start by notifying your MC and don’t make the payment. I bought one for my son and daughter-in-law and it took a while but they got it. Don’t give up.

  30. Jessica Says:

I ordered a Costco membership on 12/4 as a Christmas gift. Shortly afterwards, my credit card was billed. I called a few weeks ago and was told it was just dropped in the mail and I’d receive it within the week. It’s now 1/24 and there’s no sign of my membership. I have tried calling Kardmerchant but buth the 800 and 888 number have a “mailbox full” message. Does anyone know how else I can reach Kardmerchant or what I should do?

  31. Bhaskar Says:

I had the same experience with Kardmerchant…I called my bank to dispute the charges.

  32. Ripoff Tracker Says:

Kardmerchant is a ripoff, they take your information, and then they don’t send the offer. I would dispute the charges, and the credit card company will not pay them for what they can’t deliver.

Kardmerchant is a scam, and so is MMB for promoting this offer.

  33. kristin Says:

I never got my certificate either

  34. Jessica Says:

Update: I ordered a membership in December and never received it. About 3 months later the money I paid was credited back to my account. Hopefully the same thing will happen for you.
