  1. fyi, ive been getting deals in the mail for this card (the non-preferred one with no annual fee) offering 25,000 points after your first purchase. so if you are thinking about this card, you might want to see if you get anything in the mail first…

  2. I also just received a mailing for a chase freedom card with $200 cash back after my first purchase. You don’t get the dedicated service line, but the rewards with the freedom card is slightly better with rotating 5% categories. If I wasn’t trying to milk my miles cards for everything they’re worth before I cancel them (to avoid the annual fee), I’d jump all over this

I like Chase because I can redeem 2000 points for $20, direct deposited into my Chase checking or savings account. I go online, redeem, and the amount shows up in my bank account in one to two business days.

I have both Chase Freedom and Sapphire and have earned hundreds in cashback rebates from both cards.

My Freedom is tied to my Chase checking account for “exclusive benefits.” This means that I get not only 5% cashback on rotating categories, but I also receive 10 bonus points per transaction (even if it’s only 50 cents) and 10% of my cashback rewards.

  4. In the offer details it says:

“This one-time bonus offer is valid for first-time cardmembers with new accounts. Previous and existing cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer.”

Does this mean anyone with a Chase Credit Card or just people who already have a Sapphire Card?

I currently have the Chase Freedom card.

Thanks in advance for any reply.

  5. @Donnie – I believe that refers to any form of Sapphire card, because I’ve had several Chase cards before (including more than one Freedom) and still got this bonus from Sapphire.

  6. Newlyfrugal says

@Donnie, even though you have Chase Freedom, you are still eligible for the deal on Chase Sapphire. They are two different cards.

If you want to double the bonus ($300), apply for one in your name and one in your significant other’s name. You can be authorized user on each other’s cards.

  7. I got my $150 reward for spending the required amount without a problem. However, I’m not seeing much benefit to continuing to use this card compared to my other 1% reward card options. Anyone have thoughts why they’d continue using this?
