Chase Checking Account – $50 Opening Bonus
Chase is offering a $50 bonus for opening a new checking account with $100, which is free with direct deposit. It looks like you have to sign up for a coupon to bring into an actual bank. No branches near me, but maybe for others. Thanks to Amy for the tip.
*Offer valid from 6/01/06 through 8/31/06. (…) Checking account must remain open for six months or the bonus will be debited from the account at closing.

“Chase Free Checking has no monthly service fee when you have a monthly direct deposit.”
What is this ‘monthly service fee’ and will it evaporate any gain? How do people get around all these banking deals that all require direct deposit?
August 14th, 2006 at 10:28 am
Monthly service fees are usually applied when the account has below a certain monthly balance. The bank discloses that information when you open the account.
