250 Frequent Flier Mile Bonuses x 3: Delta, American, United
Here are some promotions that can earn you a few extra frequent flier miles. Although not very lucrative, these can be handy if your miles are about to expire due to inactivity.
- 250 Delta Airlines miles - Sign up and vote on the appropriate days. Next one is 8/20. You can actually earn 250 miles per round.
- 250 American Airlines miles - Take a short survey and opt into an e-mail list for a few months (then opt out so you can get more miles later).
- 250 United Airlines miles - Create a Mileage Plus Dining online profile.

250 United Airlines miles - Create a Mileage Plus Dining online profile.
On top of that, when you link in a credit card and pay for meals with it (I use Citi Professional that already gives me 3% back for dining), you can get additional miles from United. They send out a list of local restaurants in the program but I ignore that…sometimes the points appear after I’ve eaten at a restaurant that happens to be in the program, anywhere…

Yep, it’s definitely worthwhile to have your card linked to one of these Dining programs. They give you credit without having to do anything. I also ignore the list; most of them aren’t very good.

Where do you find this stuff?

Some from FlyerTalk.com, but I am also signed up for all the e-mails from all the airlines.

The main problem with getting the frequent flier miles with Delta, American or United, is that your “free” trip will be on Delta, American or United.
I just flew roundtrip on jetBlue from Oakland to the East Coast and now that i know that there really are planes out there with lots of legroom, i don’t know if i’ll ever squeeze in to another Delta or American — unless they add space between the seats. It was nice to be able to put a small bag underneath the seat in front of me and still have room to wiggle my toes…and feet.
