Quickies: ING up, $100 Received, Split Pea Soup Good
» ING Direct inches up to 4.15% APY. Possibly useful: $25 Opening Bonus, Rate Comparison Chart, and my Rate-Chaser Calculator.
» Got my $100 bonus from TradeKing. It may still be available, try asking their Live Chat. I can’t wait until Scottrade has online funds transfers.
» I cheated and bought some carrots for our ham and split pea soup (which turned out excellent) since the ones we had were ancient.

ING Direct keeps growing. I remember signing up when it was at 3.75% thinking it was a great deal. Now it’s up to 4.15%, this is great.

I don’t think scottrade will ever have online transfer. I suspect it’s their own crude, yet reliable, way of preventing hackers from stealing money from other people’s account.

Hey… how ’bout sharing that recipe. I made the same thing recently and it was HORRIBLE!

The $100 bonus deal with TradeKing is still available. I applied for an account yesterday (4/30/06) after reading Jonathan’s post using the promotional code “Investor”. I confirmed today using live chat on TradeKing that I will get the $100 bonus with at least $1000 funding and placing my first trade.

Darn, your personal challenge lasted less than a week.

The recipe is linked in the the original challenge post. As long as I limit my grocery shopping to less than twenty bucks this month and clear out my fridge, I’ll consider the challenge a success!

That’s the spirit! But I’m sure you won’t spend over $20 a week. I spend less than that and I’m not on a no grocery shopping challenge.

Actually, Scottrade did have ACH transfer available, but after their 3rd party provider was hacked and personal information stolen including bank account numbers from that 3rd party vendor (I think this was around October 2005), Scottrade disabled the feature.

Somehow I read your blurb before about TradeKing without realizing that they had a bonus available. I’m going to see if I can convince them to give it to me after the fact. Either way, I’m really glad that I found TK. I place trades there while using Scottrade’s streaming quote information, and I prefer the trading interface to ST (the lower commissions don’t hurt either).

Does anyone know how long one has to wait to become a new customer for ING direct to qualify for the bonus after closing the account with them? I just closed my account with ING direct to chase higher rates, and would like to know how long I have to wait to get in on the signup bonus. Thanks.

Please continue to cheat! Carrots are like, what a buck a pound? Less even? Fresh produce has to be an exception to this challenge.

Trade King is the worst brokerage service ever. They couldn’t even bust my trade when it’s completely their fault. Their live quotes are more delayed than Yahoo Quotes and some of them are soo off, especially the quotes and option quotes for Crox.
They say at the bottom of every page it says their quotes are informational purpose only and NOT to use their quotes to make a trade.
GARBAGE!
