HSBC Offers Extended, $10 Free Checking Bonus
It looks like the $50 bonus offer for opening HSBC’s Smart Package checking is now extended to March 15th, 2006. There is also a $10 bonus for opening the HSBC Free Checking account. Go to this page and enter the promotional code ‘check‘ in the box on the bottom right.
Click here for a comparison and why both of these go great with the HSBC Direct 4.80% OnlineSavings account.

The details for the online savings account says…”cannot be combined with any other promotional offers.” I wonder if you open the online savings and checking for the $50 bonus, would you only get one bonus???

I already had online savings account with HSBC. Can I still get $50 bonus? Specifically, in the application, I have to identify myself as existing customer, will I still get the bonus?

I am confused as well. I read the blogs and notice that some are saying that $50 bonus can only be applied to Smartpackage but some receive the bonus for opening a Free Checking account, so which is it?
Also, i went to the link directed by the blog to open a SmartPackage, but i am afraid that HSBC will OPEN another Money Market account for me???
Confused..

HSBC Bank to bank transfers take longet than usual.
Be careful to schedule your on-line transfers during
early part of the week. For example, I scheduled mine on Wed 3/29. The money was taken out of my bank’s account on Wed night itself. But it has not been posted to my HSBC online savings account yet. It will probably post on Monday or Tuesday of next week. So, my money is not earning interest anywhere. It is in some netherworld. So I am losing almost a week’s worth of interest.
