ING Direct to Emigrant Direct One-Step Transfer Confirmed
After linking ING Direct and Emigrant Direct directly, I just checked and my $5 test transfer from ING -> Emigrant over the weekend just posted to Emigrant today, so it is officially possible to move your money from 3.30% to 4.00% with just a few clicks!

Awesome. When combined with the 4% rate, I have no excuse not to act. It’s kind of funny that one of your AdSense ads that is currently showing on this page is for 3.3% interest at ING.

Fantastic! I will try this tonight. Should I have any worries about moving $40000 from ING to Emigrant? In other words, did your sucessful $5 test encourage you to transfer much larger amounts?

Well I haven’t moved larger amounts from ING -> ED since most of my cash is at another bank (Presidential) right now, but I have moved amounts greater than $10,000 to other linked accounts at ING and Emigrant with no problems. However, I think they do report large transfers to the gov’t for anti-terrorism stuff, as is required by EVERY bank now. But as long as you’re not laundering money you shoudl be fine.

After reading your post I initiated a transfer of $100 from ING to Emigrant and the amount was transferred in 2 days. After seeing the success, i went ahead and initiated a second transfer of $10000 from ing to Emigrant.
Its been 5 days, the ING account has debited the amount but there has been no credit to the Emigrant account. In short my money is lost!
I called ING today, but they are closed due to Columbus day holiday. I left them a voice mail at their emergency number.
I also called Emigrant direct, but they were not able to help as the transfer was a push from ING and not a pull from emigrant.
Any thoughts on this? I’m really worried!

Has it been 5 *business* days? Saturday, Sunday, and bank holidays like Columbus Day (today) are not business days. I have a feeling it will show up tomorrow. I wouldn’t worry about it yet.
