Forced Frugality - It is HOT in hurrrrrrrrrr….

Day 10 of this suffocating heat wave. If you are in part of the country which is mosty-toasty right now, you understand. Oh, wait. Only if you don’t have air conditioning like us do you really understand! Here is our advanced high-tech setup:

ghetto a/c

Now we used to have air conditioning at our last apartment, but when we were looking for places, somehow a/c got dropped of our must-have list. And it really isn’t that bad. Ok, last night was bad. I took a cold shower a 2am just to cool off.

Of course, our electric bill last month was super-low, and this month’s should be too. Hurray for forced frugality! I’m now going to spend the rest of the day in Barnes & Noble trying not to buy a frappacinno.

On the one side, it’s terrible you’re suffering so much from the heat wave..

On the other side, that’s a great illustration!!

    This heat’s a killer…

Ha, thanks, it’s not usually this hot. Besides, I don’t want to bother with installing a bunch of window A/C units in my rental, only to have to physically remove them and try to sell them when I leave in two years.

    Yes! another evaporation fan!!!

I’m still holding strong on my no A/C policy (thanks to wet washcloths and ceiling fans)
