UFB Direct offers $25 sign-up bonus and 3.30% APY, $200 minimum deposit

Another “XXX Direct” bank with “No Fees, No Minimums” is born (a while ago, I’m late with the news). UFB Direct, is offering 3.30% APY, along with a $25 sign-up bonus with a $200 minimum deposit (offer ends 8/31/05). Unfortunately, reports indicate that they also run a credit check. The APY is only a tiny bit better than Emigrant Direct, and I value my credit checks at at least $75, so I’m out.

To their credit, they do try to differentiate themselves slightly by offering an ATM card with the account, along with ATM reimbursements of up to $4.50 a month. I’d never use this, but it’s a nice feature nonetheless.
