$250 for Applying to Two Credit Cards from Charles Schwab & Sony
Got half-decent credit? Is $150 worth dinging your credit score about 10 points for about 6 months? It is for me. FrugalGirl reports on two credit cards that give out $150 and $100 respectively on successful application and usage (one purchase):
Charles Schwab MBNA Visa | Sony Visa
No annual fees on either. Neither of these cards are really special otherwise, they both have mediocre reward programs (unless you really like Sony products). I plan on applying, using them once, and throwing them in a drawer. Shhh.
* $150 offer is not available to New York residents. Dunno why.

Don’t forget to cancel the Schwab card as it resumes a $2.50 montly maitenance fee after 6 months of issue.

I may be mistaken, but I think that applies to the $150 Visa Gift Card that they give you. No worries, two months of cable TV/internet and that $150 will be gone.

ooh never heard about the Sony one.
The Schwab one isnt too bad IMO. 7.65% APR is a pretty low rate for a rewards card.
I really would jump at either one of these, but I’ve already applied for two cards for long 0% intro purposes. Doh!
I told my mom to apply though.
