Free TiVo! (After Two $100 Rebates)
I usually don’t post non-financial deals, but this deal is just too good to not to give everyone a heads-up at least. Here is the deal online at CircuitCity.com: TiVo? Series2? Digital Video Recorder–Up to 40 Hours, FREE after mail-in rebates and activation . You must buy the Tivo for $200 with free shipping or in-store pickup. After activating the TiVo with monthly service at $12.95/month or $299 lifetime, you send in two $100 rebates, one from Circuit City, one from TiVo itself. End result: Free Tivo! Click on the “rebate” button to see both rebates.
I personally recommend the monthly $12.95 option, as the “lifetime” option is only for the lifetime of that product. If your TiVo dies somehow after a year, you lose the lifetime option as well as your TiVo. Like most people who have one, I love my TiVo. If you’ve been on the fence, this may be the time to jump! Even though I only have one TV, I am seriously considering picking another one up, maybe for my parents. I’m not sure if they’ll be able to handle it, even though it’s very intuitive…

Does anyone know if you can get the rebates if it is your second Tivo box? (for the $6.95/mo)

Hi Dan, I looked at the fine print on the two rebates and for the Circuit City one, it doesn’t say anything to the contrary, as long as you activate. On the Tivo rebate, there is a limit of two per household. So it looks like you’re good if this is only your second one. Hope you got in!
