Last Day for Free Professional Financial Planning Advice
From 9 am to 6pm Eastern today, you can call 888-919-2345 and get free answers to all your investment and retirement questions from a professional financial advisor. Sponsored by NAPFA, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, a group of fee-only financial advisors which don’t work on commission, which helps remove much of the conflict of interest in financial “advisors”, some of which are closer to car salesmen than anything else.
I just read about this offer in Kiplinger’s, it has actually been going on since February 18th but I’m a bit behind in my magazine reading and I just caught it last night. Last day is today! Normally these guys charge $100 to $250 for such advice. It is explicitly open to the general public, so don’t be shy to call.
I might give them a call, but I’m not really sure what to ask? It might be fun to just quiz them. Maybe other ideas of the best place to put my cash before I buy the house? Or ways to hedge against inflation, which I am somewhat concerned with. If you try it, let me know if you find them useful or not.

So being sick of mutual fund sales people and sub performance of financial advisors, I am trying to start my own. Not wanting to be the car salesman you describe, I am asking you review my site to see if I have said anything dumb or anything I should be saying but haven’t. I can only practice in CA, so this is not a sales pitch.
Thanks much.
