Best Pre-Screened No/Low Fee 0% APR Balance Transfer Offers
More than a few people have asked about some good 0% APR Balance Transfer offers available, in response to my guide on How To Make Money From 0% APR Balance Transfers.
Unfortunately, good 0% offers are getting harder and harder to find. I’ve looked at over a hundred cards online, scoured the “Terms & Conditions” fine print, and these are the best that I’ve found with the longest 0% APR periods and the lowest fees. I’ve tried to include a variety of card issuers - and have highlighted the important details in the fine print. Just click on the card name to go directly to the correct offer and card application. Go save some money!
1) Discover More and the Discover More Card - Sealife Collection - No annual fee, 0% APR on balance transfers for 12 months, with 3% balance transfer fee with a $75 cap.
These do have a balance transfer fee, but they have a low cap so if you transfer a large enough balance it can still be worth it. If you transfer just $7,500, then $75 is only 1% of that balance. Transfer $15,000, and that’s only a 0.50% fee, and so on. In addition, if you are currently paying 8%, 12%, or even higher interest on your other cards and loans, this card can still result in a lot of savings.
Discover More cards have a rewards program with this card which gives 5% Cash Back awards in different categories each quarter (again, you can actually take advantage of due to the 0% APR on purchases).
2) Chase Platinum Visa - 0% APR for up to 12 months on all purchases and balance transfers. Balance transfer fee is 3% with a $99 cap. Here is another card with a long introductory period, and a reasonable $75 cap on balance transfer fees. No annual fee.
3) Miles Card By Discover - No annual fee, 0% APR on balance transfer AND purchases for 6 months, 3% balance transfer fee with a minimum $10 and maximum $75. Although there is a max $75 balance transfer fee with this offer, it does offer a bonus of 12,000 miles which you can actually get along with a balance transfer because it’s 0% on purchases too. Alternatively, you could just charge everything on this card and use up the 0% on purchases. These 12,000 miles are worth $75-$100 as shown below.
Redeeming Miles: With just 10,000 miles, you can get a $100 cash credit towards any travel purchase charged on this card, like a plane ticket or hotel stay. You can also convert the travel miles for cash or gift cards. 12,000 miles can get you your choice of $100 Gift Card to various stores, a $50 gift card + $25 cash + 1,000 miles left over, or $50 cash + 2,000 miles left over.
4) American Express Blue - No annual fee, 0% APR on purchases for up to 15 months (may be only 6 months or 12 months, 3.99% on balance transfers). I couldn’t find any good no-fee 0% balance transfer offers on American Express, but this is a long one for purchases. This deal may be worth if you make a lot of purchases overall for business or personal purposes.
Remember, I’ve done my best to seek out any catches and I update this list regularly, but the terms could possibly change since it’s their website. Be sure to confirm my findings, and save or print the Terms & Conditions out. Otherwise, read up and go for it!
